Why is inspiration always coming at the wrong moments?! Today I had a whole day off and instead of making new items, updating my blog and etsy, I spent it sitting on the couch wrapped in a blanket with a pile of books and magazines next to me. And now when it's almost bedtime I have a burst of inspiration and tons of ideas.... and feel I have wasted my day. But maybe this is just what a little holiday is for: relaxing and do whatever you want to.
My best ideas seem to pop up at night too, or at work when your shift just started :) Is this familiar to anyone of you?
I do have a highlight of the day though: I sold two of my apple clothes pin sets, yaay \o/ And now I ran out of these cute apple buttons :)

My birthday was a couple of weeks ago, but I still have some photos to show you.
It all started with these cupcakes. I made three different kinds: chocolate, oatmeal-apricot and carrot-walnut. They turned out really well!
My boyfriend took me out on a birthday date. At first we went on a little shopping trip which he set out himself (no kidding!). We visited some of my favourite stores: Lush, Egg Mercantile and Studio Bazar where I picked some lovely presents. In the afternoon we had a chocolate fondue, saw a movie and ended up eating some great Greek vegetarian food. Aww, so sweet, it was such a nice day ♥
Some baking/kitchen supplies: really small cake pans, paper straws and probably the cutest cupcake liners I've ever seen!
I also received 'Vegan with a vengeance', a vegan cookbook which I wanted for a long time. I haven't made the recipes yet, but they sound delicious.

Today it's Earth Day! This day is designed to 'inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment'. If everyone would change their habits only a little bit it would already make a difference, although it's never enough I'm afraid. I myself try to be as 'green' as possible and was thinking about all my little contributions to a healthier and better world. You probably read about this a million times, but here's a little list of simple things you could easily do yourself anyway. If I can do it, you can too! :)
♥ use you own grocery and shopping bags: these are nice!
♥ take your bike as often as possible
♥ eat less meat, or better, don't eat meat at all
♥ it's hard, but try to buy seasonal products: no strawberries when it's winter!
♥ use less (green) energy at home

Today I have another German based must-see-monday for you: domestic candy. Her DaWanda shop is quite small with only a couple of products, but I think they're all lovely. And I have a strong feeling I need that tree :)

Lately I'm addicted to smoothies: making and drinking! They're so easy to prepare and there seem to be endless possibilities. Yesterday I made a frozen banana-strawberry one for dessert, the one pictured above is made with pear, banana and celery. And it's even healthy too! :)

Yay, finally an update again!
After two weeks of preparing and glueing and painting and baking and worrying I packed all my mamutopia stuff to go to the Sunday Spring Market in Amsterdam.
It was my first market ever and I was so excited about having my own stall. I didn't really know what to expect, but everything turned out great. The weather was beautiful with lots of sun, people made nice comments about my products (of course there were also some stupid ones like 'I could make that myself!'), friends & family visiting and I sold pretty well, yay! The flyers and postcards were quickly gone too.
And to my surprise Maartje from Tizzalicious was suddenly standing in front of me! It's so strange to see someone you only 'know' from the internet in real life, but of course she was nice and we had a little chat :)
As you can see I also made some cookies and cupcakes! Just for fun (and to fill up the enormous space I had!) People really liked them, maybe I should start a mamutopia bakery?
Now back to normal life....sigh... I'm still in mamutopia land and very tired :)
